When is your Christmas Cut Off for orders?
*** Please note that orders placed after midday on Friday 20th December will be dispatched on 27th December ***
Please place orders in plenty of time to avoid them arriving late for Christmas.
We dispatch with Royal Mail. Please see their cut off dates here. It is worth noting that apart from Special Guaranteed Delivery, their delivery timeframes (ie 24 and 48 hours) are not guaranteed. They are the expected delivery times.
I have entered the wrong shipping address, please help!
Please contact us as soon as possible via phone on +441489341173. We're a small family business so if we don't pick up please email team@archieandmags.com
How long until I receive my order?
PLEASE NOTE THAT BLACK FRIDAY SALES ORDERS WILL BE DISPATCHED IN THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER. Thank you for your understanding!
We generally aim to ship orders on the same working day (if placed before midday UK time).
Shipping times then vary depending on the method purchased at checkout, and the destination.
UK free shipping is 2-3 working days.
How can I track my order?
Once we have dispatched your order you will receive a shipping confirmation email which contains your order tracking information.
Please refer to your shipping confirmation email for tracking information.
If you have placed an order and haven't yet received any emails from us, please email and/or ring us.
My order hasn't arrived, what should I do?
We dispatch most order via Royal Mail. Like all couriers there are occasions when items are delayed from their normal expected delivery timeline, or even lost.
Royal Mail deem items officially lost after 10 working days. However, we understand that this is sometimes too long for many people to wait. Please contact us at team@archieandmags.com if you are concerned and we will investigate. If your parcel is lost we will send another, free of charge.
My order has arrived damaged, what should I do?
Please email photos of the damage to us at team@archieandmags.com and we will be in contact to help you.
Do you sell worldwide?
The short answer is yes! We sell to almost all destinations worldwide. The cost of shipping is calculated at checkout. Please note that there may be additional customs charges payable to your country's government if you are buying from outside the UK.
Please contact us at team@archieandmags.com if you have any further queries around this.
How to use the decals
Are the decals reusable?
Our decals are not designed to be moved multiple times. Although it is generally possible to peel off the decal and stick it up again, it is not recommended. Since each time the decal is removed the glue will weaken slightly, and may not stick as well the next time.
How do I know if my surface is suitable to stick a decal onto?
Our decals have a strong self adhesive backing. They stick well to most smooth, dry surfaces. Please see our wall decal compatibility guide here for more detailed information.
How do I install a decal?
Installing our decals is super easy. Please see our full decal installation guide page here.
Are magnetic tiles compatible with your magnetic decals?
We know that some magnetic tiles stick well to our decals. Stronger one like Playmags work well, but not all.
Which magnets work on the decals?
Generally speaking lighter and stronger magnets work best. And of course, we have tested all of the magnetic accessories that we sell to ensure they work with our decals.
If a magnetic item is very light (like a magnetic alphabet letter) then these work well. Most fridge style magnets work well.
However if a magnet is too weak, it will not stick to the decals. We are aware that some magnetic tile toys work, and some don't, depending on the strength of their magnets.
How can I draw on the decals?
Our washable crayons work wonderfully well with our decals, allowing endless creativity. To remove, simply wipe away with baby wipes or a damp cloth.
Please be aware that not all pens, pencils or markers are wipe clean with the decals, and some markers may stain or permanently mark the decal.
Chalks are generally safe, but many other pens and markers will not wipe off. If you are unsure it is always best to try drawing on a very small area and see if it will wipe off.
We always advise parental supervision when drawing, to avoid the drawing spreading onto unwanted areas!
How do I remove a decal?
To remove a decal from your wall (or other surface) it often helps to warm the area. This can loosen the adhesive. A hair dryer is often the best item for this, but we aware that the decal and surface can be damaged or become very hot if you use a hair dryer.
Peel the decal at 45 degrees down and away from the wall. Peel slowly to avoid damage.
Wash off any adhesive residue which remains on the surface.
Occasionally some cosmetic damage may occur from their removal, such as weak paint peeling off. Often this can be fixed by simply fillering and/or sanding and repainting the affected area.
Archie & Mags does not accept any liability for any damages to walls or other surfaces caused by the installation, use or removal of any of our products.
Will the decal damage my wall when I remove it?
Our wall decals have a strong self adhesive backing which helps them stay up on the wall whilst being played with (subject to correct wall compatibility above).
Our decals are not designed to be moved multiple times. Although it is generally possible to peel off the decal and stick it up again, it is not recommended. Since each time the decal is removed the glue will weaken slightly, and may not stick as well the next time.

Can you cut the decals?
Yes they can be cut with a sharp knife or scissors.
What ages are the decals suitable for?
Our wall decals can be enjoyed by almost all ages! Although in a playroom environment they are most popular for 3 to 10 year olds. Used as a magnetic organiser (such as our black rectangular noticeboard) they are enjoyed by all ages, including adults.

What does the word decal mean? 🙂
Interesting fact - the word decal is a shortened form of the word decalcomania, which comes from the French word décalcomanie, a technique for transferring prints onto pottery. However it has come to mean a decorative sticker which can be stuck onto a surface. In our case we sell decals which vary in shape and colour and are designed to be stuck onto walls or similar surfaces. Our decals contain small amounts of steel, which means magnets are attracted to them.
Where is Archie & Mags based?
