Things To Consider Before Buying A Wall Decal
We have designed our multifunctional wall decals with a strong self adhesive backing. This means that they are super easy to install, and stick very well to the majority of surfaces and walls.
Unsuitable wall types
-
Outdoors
The decals are only designed for indoor use due to the high humidity changes outside.
-
Weak or Flaky Paint
The wall decal will stick to the peeling paint, but if the paint isn't well bonded to the wall it will just peel off.
-
Damp Walls
The adhesive won't adhere well if the wall is damp. If a wall has been recently plastered or painted then please wait until it is fully dry (at least 3 weeks) before sticking up our wall decals.
-
Highly Textured Surfaces
Our decals adhere best to a clean, flat surface. Some texture is ok, but exposed brick, very textured wallpaper or artex for example is unlikely to work without a backing board.
-
Stain Resistant Paint
These paints are designed to prevent dirt or anything else sticking to them. So walls painted with them require a little extra prep before putting up a decal.
-
Dirty Walls
Little hands, or other factors from daily life, can often make walls a little greasy. Sometimes this isn't visible to the naked eye. If you suspect your wall has been "well loved" then give it a thorough clean and dry before installing a decal.
Please Note
-
Cosmetic Damages
Our wall decals have a strong self adhesive backing which helps them stay up on the wall whilst being played with. Occasionally some cosmetic damage may occur from their removal, such as weak paint peeling off. Often this can be fixed by simply fillering and/or sanding and repainting the affected area. Please check out our FAQ sections for help with decal removal.
-
Semi permanent
Our decals are not designed to be moved multiple times. Although it is generally possible to peel off the decal and stick it up again, it is not recommended. Since each time the decal is removed the glue will weaken slightly, and may not stick as well the next time.
